“Do not throw away your confidence, which has great reward.” — Hebrews 10:35 (ESV)
Reflection
There is a unique challenge in waiting. It’s one thing to believe God for something in the beginning, but it’s another thing to keep believing when time passes and nothing seems to change. This is where perseverance becomes essential.
The believers addressed in Hebrews were facing pressure, discouragement, and delay. They had started strong, but the weight of their circumstances tempted them to give up. The writer’s encouragement is clear: don’t throw away your confidence.
Why? Because your confidence carries a reward.
Faith is not just about trusting God in moments of clarity—it is about holding on to Him in seasons of uncertainty. There is often a gap between what God promises and when we see it come to pass. That gap is where endurance is developed.
It’s in the waiting that faith is tested.
It’s in the waiting that patience is formed.
It’s in the waiting that trust is strengthened.
Sometimes what feels like a delay is actually preparation.
God may be working behind the scenes—aligning circumstances, strengthening your character, and preparing you to receive what He has promised. What you don’t see does not mean nothing is happening.
Supporting Truth
“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9 (ESV)
Your harvest is connected to your perseverance.
Application
Hold on to your confidence: Don’t let discouragement cause you to let go of what God has spoken.
Trust God’s timing: His delays are never without purpose.
Stay consistent: Continue praying, believing, and doing what is right—even when results are not immediate.
Refuse to give up: Your breakthrough may be closer than you think.
Prayer
Lord, help me to remain faithful in seasons of waiting. When I feel discouraged or uncertain, remind me of Your promises. Strengthen my endurance and teach me to trust Your timing. Help me hold on to my confidence, knowing that You are at work even when I cannot see it. Give me the strength to keep going until I see what You have promised fulfilled in my life.
Amen.
Daily Reminder
“I will not give up—God is still working.”
