Abiding in Peace

Peace That Stays

From the Desk of Pastor Owens

Scripture

John 14:27

“Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give to you…”

Reflection

Peace is one of the most desired things in life—and one of the hardest to hold onto.

We often think peace will come when:

  • Everything settles down.

  • Problems are resolved.

  • Life becomes predictable.

But Jesus offers something different.

He doesn’t promise a life without trouble—He promises peace that endures in the midst of it.

That’s what makes His peace distinct from the world’s.

The world’s peace rests on control.

Christ’s peace is based on trust.

And that peace becomes real when we choose to remain connected to Him.

Key Thought

Peace is not found in controlling life—it is found in trusting God with it.

Application

Today, practice replacing anxiety with trust:

  • When worry shows up, pause and pray.

  • When fear rises, remind yourself who is in control.

  • When your mind feels overwhelmed, return to God’s presence.

Ask yourself:

  • What am I trying to control that I need to let go of?

  • Am I trusting God, or merely hoping things work out?

Prayer

“Lord, thank You for the peace only You can give. Help me trust You in every situation, even when I don’t understand what’s happening. Guard my heart and mind and teach me to rest in Your presence. Let Your peace guide and sustain me each day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Closing Encouragement

Peace doesn’t come from having all the answers.

It comes from knowing the One who does it.

So today—stay connected. Let His peace guard your heart.
